Default TM36-68 Report and Hamptons, NY RIDE REPORT

Finally got the clutch parts and built a nice strong aftermarket clutch with stronger springs. Put in the TM36-68, jetted it up nice, and took her to the Hamptons. Found some nice Fire Roads (PIC) with sand Ye haaaa!! Nothing but rooster tails today.. then ended up at Shinnicock inlet (PIC) I bet the Striped Bass are showing up already.. Tempted to go back for another ride tonight with the surfrod

So.. the TM36-68: It woke the bike up Ill say.. it is like having WOT in your first 1/2 throttle position.. Its insane.. at least 10-15% more power in the mid range.. same top end.. and I adjusted it to squirt from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle so you could kindof still buz around with 1/4 throttle without causing whiplash.. honestly, my neck hurts from the ride.. the bike feels like a 2-stroke. One thing though.. the bike overheated when I came to a stoplight twice.. I am wondering why.. this never happened with the CVK carb. Is the IDLE jet too lean or was I just pushing the bike beyond it's limits.. ?

Did you undo the disconnect to the fan and forget to plug it back in? My fan hasn't kicked on this spring yet either but it's been cold out. Has me a little worried too. I did replace the coolant with Engine Ice.

Did you get ALL the air out of the cooling system?

If you could hear it boiling, you have troubles. Its NOT the carb. Too lean will not make it over heat like you are describing.

If it makes good power, then it has nothing to do with the carb.

Fix the bike then ride it.

Probably air in the cooling system. I warmed mine up and cooled it off a couple times before riding it. Keep checking the coolant with out burning your self. Top it up until its full with NO air.
