Default TCI Products

I just put the TCI skid plate and engine guards on my 09 250SF. The directions were vague, but Tom at TCI helped out and said he was going to change the instruction sheet. I was missing the obvious, as usual. I only had grind two washers to fit. It went together pretty well actually. The skid plate and bars look very sturdy. I hope I never have to find out how sturdy. I also have the Borrego tail rack. The other mod I've added so far is the Zeta Stingray protectors. I'm not on the dirt, so I just wanted something to keep the wind off. The bar is kind of crowded, so I don't know how they will work yet, but expect they'll be ok.

Here are some photos.

Is there any holes in the bottom of the plate to let mud and stuff out. Also is there a hole for the oil drain? How much did it cost?

There is a hole for the oil drain. There were no other holes. I suppose if I get it muddy, I'll just wash it out. $219.00 from New Enough.

Looks good- One thing I did with mine while instaling is sandwhich a couple blocks cut out of a vibration isolation pad between the frame and the plate. I did not want it rattleing around and or reflection engine noise back up.

I thought about that very thing during the install. I didn't have anything handy, so I'll just try it the way it is and change later if it's a problem.

Soon as it stops raining, I'll give it a run.

I've put about 30 miles on it since the install and have noticed no noise or vibration.

What is the point of a skid plate on an SF bike with street wheels?? I guess I just don't get it.. How many boulders are on the road?!!

And $219!!!!! Wowzers... That's half way to a 351 kit - which I think would be a much better mod for a street bike than a bash plate!!! I thought the $90 I spent on my bash plate was expensive!

I wanted the engine guards. Even street bikes go down from time to time. To each his own my friend.

I've no interest in a 351 kit. It works just fine the way it is.
