Default Street tire question (sorry search didn't produce)

So other than switching to supermoto rims, does anybody know of some 100% street tires for our bikes? I want to buy a set of full blown street tires and a full blown set of off road tires (probably the Millvills)and just switch them out when the opertunity comes to go trail riding.I know that this is not the most convienient way to do it, but I ride 90% street on some fairly curvy roads and I'd like to push little harder but I dont feel comfortable with the knobbys. Plus I went riding at a preatty hardcore off road park and my front end washed every other turn, and you can forget wet uphills, so I dont want a street tire off road and I don't want an off road tireon the street! Oh yeah super moto rims are out of the question (not enough $)

Do you want another set of rims? Or do you just wanna change the tires? that would be a PITA... but im not sure how much stock rims would cost... im pretty sure that they make street tires that would fit our stock rims, but i dont think there is many to choose from...

There's also dual sport tires that are 80/20 90/10 street based, I think someone on here has a set of those, Marty maybe? They look like a street tire just have a bit deeper tread.

Avon Distanzia's are about an 80/20 tire; really good on the street and in rain, and o.k. on dirt/gravel.

I've got a barely used set of Distanzia's for sale ($90 for both front/rear); I went back to full ****'s for my off-roading.

So, you want to keep the one set of rims and just switch the tires out when you need to? Wow, you must be good at changing tires, you can get a set of SM rims for the same or less than the price of OEM rims. Save up! The streettires are soooo much better if they are 17".

Well I havent priced any full wheel sets (rim, hub, and spokes) for this bike but When I raced MX I always wanted to have a practice set of tires and a race set ,but the chepestwheel setsI ever found was like $450.00 each (front or rear). I never bought full wheel sets while racing so yes I did get preatty good at tire changing.

I'd suggest you try the cheap Distanzas and if you really like them save up for a set of S/M rims and tyres. Believe me the S/M rims and tyres are a lot of fun. I ride about 90 / 10 and I just swap rims ... changing tyres when you wanna ride trailswould bea pain IMO.
Cheers
