Stock carb and 330 upgrade Q
Have 2010 and am planning on ordering the Kustom Kraft 330 kit. I am running a full Muzzy exhaust, DynoJet stage 2 with airbox lid removed.
I was wondering if I will lose the potency of the 330 by not switching up to a pumper carb?
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.

bigger bore is bigger bore imo, it could be undercarbed, but not by much. Mostly what you feel with a pumper carb I think is more a snappy throttle since its spitting fuel instead of a steady pull of a vacuum.
Not really any difference in power and some people prefer the plated as opposed to sleeved cylinder.

I've been happy with my Cycle Pro 331 kit and jetted stock carb, though I really really want to ditch the CV and toss a pumper on there. Add it to the list of other things that I don't have the cash for right now

Once again I'll sing the praises of the 36mm pumper carb here. It works everywhere. It starts easier. It accelerates impressively. It has improved wide open throttle. It gets as good or better mpg than the stock carb. It's very close to a straight bolt-on. It's cheaper than Bill Blue's carb. I regret not having done it a long time ago.
I installed a 331 just a couple weeks ago and I'm really happy with the power and torque improvement. It feels like another bike now. It revs faster than before even with the stock carb. I just drilled the slide last night to help a little more, but haven't ridden yet. I agree with TNC, it is a little worse on fuel and I'm still learning her sweet spot to turn it over.
I was going to put on a pumper but opted to spend the money on suspension improvements instead. My buddy has a 351 and pulls me on the pavement but I pull from him on the dirt because of the better handling -definitely the bike and not the rider:

All said, I'm very pleased with the setup (for now

Thanks for the info guys.
Do not doubt a carb upgrade would make things better. Since it seems I can still achieve good power without it I will add the pumper later and appreciate that upgrade on its own.
95% of my riding on this bike is in the dirt - have a street bike for the blacktop - so the bore upgrade will be just fine for now.
"Although it has been said may times / many ways" this is a great forum for learning and sharing experience. I have done a few of the mods and benefitted from them all.
Thanks again.

Yep, if you're not going to do both at the same time, the bigger bore brings very noticeable results and is the best first step. Then when you do the carb, you'll be doubly impressed.
Yes - something to look forward to. Will be ordering up a Cycle Pro big bore kit tomorrow. Pumper down the road. Need to keep up with the Euro trash some of the local boys ride.
Other upgrades in the future could include suspension bits and maybe lighter rims - they seem to weigh a ton.

In fact I ordered the jets today!
FCR37 is just way too much work for 1mm
