Default Stalls under hard braking at idle

I'm stumped....

I just installed a TM36 pumper in an 09 KLX250S with an FMF Slipon and stock cylinder. Bike runs amazing except under hard braking at idle when it just stalls. It then doesn't start on the first flick of the starter like usual, I have to crank it a couple times. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? At first I thought it was tight throttle cables but that doesn't seem to be it now that they are re-routed. I can mimic the same stall condition parked in the driveway at idle by holding the front brake and compressing the forks very quickly. Same thing when I hold the front brake and lift quickly.

It also has an IMS tank.

Ideas?

Phil

Can you you explain this better? How do you hard brake AND Idle at the same time? Are you saying under heavy braking your yanking in the clutch?

My CVK34 does this every now and again, hot or cold. I think it either floods & starves the venturi of fuel because it sloshes violently inside the bowl. Restarts straightaway. No biggie for me.

Happens to me too, but it is because my idle circuit is too rich (still dialing in) so I when I brake hard it floods and kills my bike at stop lights

check your float level, too low. Sloshing around lets the jet run dry.

1+ float level as I'd think too high or low could possibly do it.

I adjusted the float up a bit to 19.7mm but still no dice. Another symptom I found last night was when I lean the bike over far left it stalls. Right side no problems. None of the cables appear to be rubbing.

If I crack the throttle to around 4000rpm all symptoms go away.

6thgear let me clarify. I should have said throttle closed not at idle. That being said the bike stalls as I get close to a stop not as soon as I jump on the brakes say at highway speed.

OK, did you adj the air screw @ idle?
On a TM carb, if the air screw is not right, it effects the idle greatly.

It purrs at idle and air screw is about 2.5 turns out from the bottom. Man this is frustrating.....
