Springs

Hey guys, doing a search yields tons of posts.. Just looking to see what springs front and rear cost for the klx? I can put them in myself. On thier site you have to call, i just want to get a general cost for the front and rear springs.

It can cost from 70-100 bucks depending on app. I cross-referenced the springs for my klx400 when re-springing and I went on ebay and got some takeouts out of another bike that were half the price of new. The same for the rear spring...I got an RMZ450 spring that a dude was changing out and it happened to be the rate I was looking for.

The Race Tech versions are about $90 for the pair. The '06/'07 models can use the KLX300 springs, and you just set the preload according to the factory specs or according to the recommendations provided by the spring manufacturer. I went with Race Tech .44's for an '06 KLX300 and set the preload measurements in a compromise between the factory manual and the provided instructions. Preload is somewhat preferential by a decent margin as large as 20mm to as little as 5mm.

On moto pros site they say the rear spring is 120 and you guys are saying the fronts are around 100$.... mmm.... might be worth it. I have been needing to do it for awhile now. Just have to work more OT. :)

Swapping out the rear spring is also really easy, maybe even easier than doing the fork springs. It might be bit more work (have to remove the rear wheel, etc.) but it's more simple work.

Probably the cheapest source for stiffer rear spring is from Ebay.
Do a search there for "DSP SHOCK SPRING KX125", it's direct fit and comes in all the most often needed rates, 5.8 6.0 6.2 and 6.4kg/mm for the really big boys.
