Spark Plug Upgrade
What is the best spark plug upgrade for a 2009

I doubt the plug is your problem but you could go one hotter. If you have an 8 in there go to a 9.

waste- just clean your current plug with a wheel and regap. there are no benefits to a hotter or iridium plug in this engine other than a placebo effect.

In NGK a 7 is hotter than an 8 I just talked with NGK technical support and sent them a photo of the plug tip - it is wet fouled which they say is common with a jet kit and needs a hotter plug to keep it clean. If the tip is black at all it requires too much voltage to start.

IG is dead set against anything he hasn't tried yet. Anybody who's done some performance mods and rides aggressively would be better-off going with 7 (next step hotter) plug. |
