Some advice please and thanks.
I'm just starting out on mods. and needed some help. I'm going to go 14/45 520/108 o-ring chain, I ride about 50/50 on-off road. Also the 2 Brothers slip-on cause no one seems to have one. Will that be a good way to start power wise and do I need to jet with the new slip-on. Also not much of a cycle mec. but not afraid to try. All help and opinions are great.

i would go with 13/45 if i was u. about jetting, everyone on here that has a pipe has jetted but i removed the snorkle and just put the pipe on and it runs great. everyone will tell u to rejet and it depends on where you live too because of elevation. i dont have any bogging or anything wrongwitout jets, just slight popping on deceleration. try takin the snorkle off the top of the airbox lid too

If your bike runs lean which is what happens when you change the air intake or exhaustit will eventually ruin your motor if you don't re-jet your carb. It cost less than $100.00 so why wouldn't you have your bike running at itsbest? I am sure you could run it without jetting but it will run better if you do and eliminate the chance of ceasing your motor.

just start with the gearing change. if your ok with the power leave it alone. if you want more powerTHEN go with a pipe. motorcycles come lean from the factory to pass emmisions.. if you get more air out with a pipe it will be running that much leaner.. lean isn't good. check your plug. if it's white it's too lean and you HAVE to get more fuel in there. the stock needle is too fat and the stock jets are too small. you don't have to get ajet kit. read up on which jets and what needle everyone is running and it'll be cheaper than a jet kit. jets ought to be about $5 and the needle should be under $30. take allthat emmisions crap off there too. it's useless. you canread everything you need to know on this forum or advrider. they even have pics so it's easy to follow what they're all talking about. for the love of mike don't pay someone to do it for you!!!!
