Default Slide Vent Question

Can anyone post an exploded diagram of the Carb, showing where the slide vent is located. I ordered the needle, collar, clip, main and pilot jets. Already drilled the 1/2" hole in the exhaust and took off the air filter cover (didn't even bother with the KDX snorkel).

I just want to know where to drill the 7/64ths hole in the slide vent.

Thanks guys

Hey guys,

Looking at those photos, do the U.S. model KLX-250s's have another slide vent hole on the upright section of the slide.

On ours (Australian models), there are 2 holes. The one in the top which you can see in the above photo and also another on directly below it but on the upright section.

The dynojet kit has both holes pictured in the diagram too.

Maybe it's there but I just can't see it?

i would go with the kdx200 snorkel, i would be to scared to run with the entire lid off... i have already gotten my airbox drain filled with muddy water, which means it went in the snorkel i couldnt imagine without a snorkel... nothing good can come of that....

There's a valid reason for that. You folks run your bloody bike upside down! We only need the single hole as our bikes are not ridden that way!

On removing the air box top - sure hope you NEVER experience a backfire! That's all I'll say about that!

Thanks for the input, especially about the backfire (buttfire) issue. Sounds like a good reason for a KDX snorkel or at least putting on the cover w/o the snorkel!!!
