anyone tell me what the stock size hole was before the PO drilled it out?

the slide lifts too fast IMO.,

I can't tell you stock size hole. It is posted here somewhere as I recall seeing it.

i want to know too i got rid of the cvk because it was too damn slow on response

And not saying this to diss' the OP, but I think this may be the first time I ever heard someone say their CV carb, modded or not, responded too fast. And honestly, I'm a CV carb fan on an adventure or play trail bike. If I was still racing enduros, I'd have a different bike and carb...or FI.

The hole originally is 2.5mm.

A slide that rises too quickly can result in a hesitation (flat spot) when accelerating.

Someone had drilled the hole to 1/8" via a dj kit on my 650, I recently epoxied it back and redrilled it 2.5mm. It runs better.

My klx was done the same way by the PO. On hard uphill gully type grinds and hillclimbs where the motor is really loaded and you should maybe downshift but can't and the motor feels like it has enough grunt to lug up. A twist of the throttle more open will bog.

Another scenerio is 6th gear high load high speed, opening the throttle even further on a CV should not allow the slide to lift further if the motor can't take it. Twisting the throttle makes the power lay down a bit like too rich mj. If I slowly roll into it controlling the slide lift like a non cv carb it's fine.

I may be wrong but suspect the slide over runs the throttle plate in these conditions.

Performance on level ground or lower load conditions is fine.
