Shin/Knee guards... inside or outside pants?
I've been wearing them outside my pants... my uncle says to wear them inside my pants... but the old man says it doesn't matter. Is there a better way to do it? Wouldn't I want them on the outside so A) my pants don't get torn up and B) mobility? Or should I wear them inside?

It really doesn't matter. Everyone I ride with puts them on the outside. I used to ride with mine inside but the straps and velcro would eventually end up digging into my leg after some hard riding. Outside for me.
Back when I first started riding a lot of the riding pants had pockets sewn into the inside of the legs so that pads and guards would just slide in. Made things much more comfortable. Also, you used to be able to get MX pants with the pads and guards already sewn in. I can't find any of these types of pants anymore. If anyone has a source let me know.

The pair I used to use had the velcro on the front of the shin gaurd. I use knee braces now so i have to use a pair of leggings so that the velcro doesn't tear up my leg.
Made them out of some old Long Johns and they work great.
