SF 17" wheels, tubed or tubeless
Looking for clarification.
Thanks |
tubed

you can use tubeless tires but you have to run a tube inside since its a spoked wheel, unless you get a "tubeless" setup which still uses a tube of sorts but not in the traditional way.
Clear as mud ? :D |
tubed, but i run tubeless tires with tubes right now after the stock tires wore/popped...the best tire sizes to run is 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear...i'm currently running 120/70-17 front and 150/70-17 rear, and my mpg is lower and it handles like a slug...but, cruising straight on freeways is great and comfy...

I run Pirelli diablo rosso 2 tires. These are a Bi-compond sport radial & definitely TUBELESS with inner tubes fitted. They make the stock IRC tires feel like wooden wagon wheels!

Thanks for the info. I did not realize that you could fit a 150 in the rear. A lot of rubber for the little 250 to turn. I will think about it.

i have about 2,000 miles on mine with the 150 rear...i already have it on, so i'll ride on it until it wears, but i'll downsize to 140 next time...and, go back to 110 front..

So I want to replace the crappy irc stock tires. Pirelli is out of the rosso II 140 rears. I'm thinking of the 150/60/17 and running a 120/60 front. My other option is the pirelli demons but I don't know if anyone has ridden with them. Any other opinions for street tires for the sf?

i'm running 120 front and 150 rear...i regret it...handling suffers...it feels like a heavier bike on the turns...slower to lean left and right....i really recommend going with 110 front and 140 rear...
