setup
I have had this 250SF for a week now and had a ton of fun blasting around.
After I had it a couple of days, I started feeling the tires. Rear really hot, front cold. It had 33 rear/29 front and factory tires. Bike has 2500 miles on it.
SO I added 3 psi to the rear for 36, now after a ride its good and warm, not hot to my hands. Front is still cold. I have been riding it like that for a couple hundred miles. Last night I was going over some bridge approaches and slid ahead on the seat. Much smoother ride. Then it hit me. Raise up the rear shock a little to remove weight from the rear and put it on the front.
Rear sag before was 3" (with me on it). I turned the big nut on the shock a couple of turns and went for another ride. Couldn't tell a whole lot, but on the way to work today the headlight was lower and the bike did seem to handle better. After I completed my 18 mile commute to work rear tire was warm, front a little warm.
I don't know what the recommended sag is, but 25% to 33% total suspension is in the ball park. Today I will put a zip tie on the front and take some measurements.l Perhaps let a couple psi out of the front to see if that makes a difference.
200 lbs 5'7" tall.
Hooligan seems to fit when I am blasting around on this bike!
