Is it safe to transport a Kolpin on it's side?
I installed the bracket for a Kolpin fuel tank today. I have a ProMoto rack so that limited my installation options. I jerry-rigged it so I can remove the bracket when not being used pretty easily. Since it'll be on it's side is that OK for transporting fuel? I assume if I don't smell gas fumes the seal will be fine.

I haven't used mine yet but I've seen lots of pictures in various threads on ADV with them mounted like yours. Should not be a problem.

I have many off road, rough miles with mine mounted like you have pictured and never leaked a drop. As soon as my Nomadic rack gets here I'll be mounting it that way on my KLX as well. You should be good to go. Tom |
If the Kolpin's and the Rotopax were not OK on their side they should be sent back for a refund.
The whole point of those gas containers is NO leaks in any position. Nice setup on your bike. |
