Is it safe to transport a Kolpin on it's side?

I installed the bracket for a Kolpin fuel tank today. I have a ProMoto rack so that limited my installation options. I jerry-rigged it so I can remove the bracket when not being used pretty easily. Since it'll be on it's side is that OK for transporting fuel? I assume if I don't smell gas fumes the seal will be fine.

I haven't used mine yet but I've seen lots of pictures in various threads on ADV with them mounted like yours. Should not be a problem.

I have many off road, rough miles with mine mounted like you have pictured and never leaked a drop. As soon as my Nomadic rack gets here I'll be mounting it that way on my KLX as well.

You should be good to go.

If the Kolpin's and the Rotopax were not OK on their side they should be sent back for a refund.

The whole point of those gas containers is NO leaks in any position.

Nice setup on your bike.
