Replacing handlebar question

I just got my new Renthal CR High handlebar. Those of you that replaced yours. Did you drill the two holes that stop the throttle body and the other plastic thing on the left with the high beam and blinkers controls from moving?

Hey Man, Don't drill your bars. Just cut those nubs off and put a wrap of athletic tape or something like that under those controls.

No, I didn't coz I didn't want to compromise the integrity of the tube structure - dunno if it makes a difference though. I just used a craft knife to cut off the little plastic bits - I don't really struggle with the bits moving around, though if I did have a problem I would build up the bar using insulation tape to stop the bits turning.

Thank you. I was afraid to cut the tabs and regret it. I just cut them and mounted them back. It's fine. They don't move. But I may still put some kind of tape there...eventualy.
I hate that clutch cable!! So short!!!

I drilled mine. I don't know if they are solid at that point, but I drilled about 3/16" deep and had not hit a hollow center. They are so much stronger than the stock bars, I'm not worried about that little hole weakening them...

I added risers so I needed longer cables.

+1 to remove the plastic nubs.

Rode it to work this morning. Feels a lil weird because the CR High bend is a bit wider than the stock bar. In a couple of days, IŽll get used to it. But I like it. Feels a bit higher than stock, as well, but I guess it depends on how you adjust them. I also got the Renthal firm grips - which were a pain to put on.
My D-Tracker is all black (no stickers), so I got black color to match up. It looks nice.

lol... Soon, bro. Let's hope for a sunny weekend. :)

Ok..Saturday is still far away...:D Not the best pic, but it may give an idea of how it looks. Visibility sucks today, which is a shame cause you have a nice view of the bay on that bridge.
