Which rear tire and what size are you all running?

Just a small poll to find out what seems to be the most popular rear tire and size, people are running at present.
I've selected a few readily available at the large online stores in the USA.
I,m sure I've left some out. Just add them to the thread with some feedback.;)

Bridgestone ED660 120/90-18. Very agressive for the deep, sticky sloppy stuff. Probably a 95%off/5% on tire. I'm burning mine off commuting. I wore the newness offtrail riding. Once it lost the edge, I figure may as well use it up. It's essentially free commuting rubber now. It'll probably not do much better than 1000-1200 miles total but like I say, I'm just using it up. Even so, I'm getting 60mpg with the KLX300 cylinder and jetting plus full Muzzy.

Not much use in a hard dry climate like West Aus' then?
If you got some soft stuff it sounds like an option.;)

Right, the Bridgestone ED660 isdefinately not a street tire and would not be my choice for the hard dry stuff either. But, for the hills and woods of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana, especially in the Spring,It isa GREAT choice.....until I started commuting on the KLX.

keep it simple; use the stock size as the KLX does not have the power to turn any more rubber than it already has to. your terrain will dictate the style of tire YOU need.

Did anyone calculate what the actual gearing change is when I swapped out my stock D603 for the D606.
I didn't measure anything, but I remember that the 606 was a good inch taller when mounted than the stock rubber.
Wonder what the circumfrance diff was, and how much that affects gearing ratio?

I can tell you that my speedo is still 10 kph 'optimistic' even with the taller rear tire.

What does the rear tire have to do with speedo accuracy?
