Default Rear Brake Pad question

hi - my 2009 bike has worn out the original rear pads and I have some EBC pads - the OEM ones have a thin steel "cover" and a liner that fits over the pads. These do not appear in on the service manual pictures and not something I have seen on other bikes.

Should I re-use this over the new EBC pads?

Probably anti-chatter, the brake pad squeal.

I removed my anti rattle clip bc I was lazy and it has not affected anything or caused any noise

Noise isn't guaranteed if the part is not there. May or may not squeak. Heck, it might even squeak with the plates in there.

The shims can serve two purposes-act as a pseudo insulator to reduce heat soak from the pads and to act as anti rattle hardware. I always try to use the shims.
