Default Rear Axle Bolt and Nut Sizes

I just got a nail in my rear tire, and I don't have the correct size socket for the axle bolt and nut of course. The nut seems to be just over an inch sincemy one inch almost fits. I'massuming it's metric as well. Anyone know the correct sizes before I go to Sears? Those little bastards are so expensive these days. Also, the torque specs would be nice as well.

Obviously I'm new here, but I've been reading this forum for a couple months now. You guys seem like a bunch of terds. I'm sure I'll fit in well.

Dan

I figured it out. The axle bolt takes a 22mm, and the nut is a 27mm.

Be careful when torquing the Axle nut, The bolt and adjusters will turn if you don't hold thebolt with the 22mm Socket. Plus, it helps to have someone sit on the bike to keep it from lifting up and trying to fall over.

the adjusters wont turn if you hold the back wheel hard up against the adjusters when tightening the nut
