Rad Fan

Hi All,
Just got my klx250r (Australian version) and am in the process of putting her on a diet. Is there any reason why I should not take the fan off the radiator? I had a klx400 before and some mates have Wr250's that dont have the fans at all. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

if you want try weighing the rad fan. and then weight the risk of overheating.

see which one is heavier

I thought for the longest time that the fan just didn't work. Last weekend it finally did come on while climbing a steep hill. According to the Vapor's temperature gauge, it came on at 214-215F. It's reported that the overtemp dummy light will come on at 230F -- I've never seen it.

I wouldn't mind if itcame on earlier. On a street bike I had I wired a switch to manually over-ride it coming on, so when I was sitting in traffic I could proactively enable the fan.
