Default questions: sm wheels and tires

im planning on switching my bike over to supermoto wheels and tires, can anyone answer a few questions?

- do i have to change sprockets, brake discs, etc.?
- are there different size wheels or are all sm type the same size?
- where is the best place to buy?
- can i change it over myself or should i bring it to a shop?

- You don't have to change sprockets although not doing so lowers the gearing slightly. As with the sprockets you don't have to change rotors but if you do any serious on roading you will want stainless steel brake lines and perhaps a bigger rotor.
- S/M rims are mostly 17" diameter however there is nothing to say you have to use 17's.
- I bought mine off ebay however if you do a search there are plenty of places to buy them.
- They are easy to change yourself with the warning to be careful of the front axle nuts see the following link

Supermoto's have smaller tires compared to the stock style set up. As well as a larger front disc for better breaking ability. But these are things you don't have to change if you don't want too.

What did you have to do to get that caliper to fit the larger front rotor?
