Question about clutch upgrades
Such has come the time of questioning in the matter of clutch...
The throw from 1st to 2nd gear seems a bit "clunky" as some might put it..... myself included. It CERTAINLY is not a quiet, smooth clicky clicky as it was within the first 5000km of riding ;) I have "perfect shifting" when the engine is between 6000-8000 rpm. My riding style now consists of a quick brap of the throttle with the clutch lever pulled so as to raise the rpms and "smooth" the shift, both on upshift and downshift.. Anyone know what is causing a "clunkier" or "stickier" shift, when at low rpms or in neutral? Have I worn down my clutch plates from sloppy clutch work or aggressive shifting? It's not a HUGE problem at the moment, but I noticed some aftermarket clutch kits are available and thought it might be worth the purchase, if the fix is that simple. |
If you need a clutch, look into the KX125 plates. More friction material, my 331 still slips even with Barnett springs if I really hammer it. I am going to go this route, I think the mod goes back to the KLX300 days.
