Question about clutch replacement.

Can the clutch be replaced by just removing the clutch cover or, does the right side cover have to come off.
Thanks for the input.

I think you’ll need to use a screw driver to hold the rear brake lever out of the way, but just the cover needs removal not the side case. Remember to check you tube for vids. Katsumi mr duhfactor has a slipping clutch vid changing out clutch springs to heavier springs

Yeah, just remove the clutch cover. On the other side you’ll have to remove the inspection plug to get a socket in there to hold the flywheel bolt to keep everything from spinning as your try to loosen the clutch hub nut.

I’d grab an a klx membership from cyclepedia.com if you have the spare cash. It’s great for walking you through stuff like this. It’s all I referenced the first time I put in a new clutch.

Judder spring, yes or no?

Iirc the ebc clutch plates I installed didn’t reuse the judder spring. Since it has less surface friction area compared to the other plates I didn’t give it a thought.
I always wondered what exactly that contraption actually did

You asked me about this a number of years ago. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...e2/#post460964

Not sure if this will help but I was watching this video just the other night. I really like this guy's channel. Skip to around the 4:00 mark.
