Default PSA: 78mm bore kit on Amazon

Decided to grab one of the AHI/Tong Tong 78mm 300cc bore kits to shelve in case my 351 ever tanks again.

When i added it to my cart it knocked off $27 or so, bringing the kit price down around $150. Just says "promotion applied"..dont know what - maybe a cyber monday thing?

In any case, thats low bucks to have a spare, IMO.....

I got the same deal ! It more than covered a valve shim kit. I think it was a Black Friday deal. In my case I'm going from stock barrel to this kit and pipe mods, etc.
I hope the gasket set is ok. Plan to have it installed sometime in January, will report.

Just remember a post where someone found the gaskets didn't fit. Did you notice ahl makes 2 kits, appear identical but one is for 07 and earlier and the one i got which is 09 and later, might that be the difference in gasket?

Hmmm the one I ordered was called AHL Cylinder Head & Piston Kit & Gasket Set 78mm Bore for Kawasaki KLX250 1993-2014

hope it’s correct

if you search for klx300 they separate it by years. If you search for klx250 it lists all years together.

Sorry that is the one I got too. But they have another listing, 96 to 07. I am pretty sure they are the same , slightly different price

Took a chance, picked up the 1993-2014 kit. It will be on the shelf until I get the work shop set up to go.

I can't wait to see what you all think of this kit... I hope you get that shop going KLX678. If it looks good I'll buy one of your cam chain tensioners Hmmm, cylinder is cast as 299, piston is 78mm which I believe is same as the 292 cc KLX 300. Still, $179 for 292cc's, e-bay has Mikuni TM 36-68 for $263. $442 vs $899 for Kustom Kraft 330 with stock cvk. $522 for Bill Blue's and I would no longer have my stock cylinder, also cost of Mikuni...

It's just a 12x20 building for me to do the tensioners and my own motorcycle stuff - gets me out of the garage.

From what I had understood and seen/compared, there is one kit that does not work. The lower tensioner is out of position for the KLX. The 299cc kit has the proper positioning from what Geo and some others have said.

I figure 300cc for a buck and a half it's worth a try. From there, maybe do the 351 after the fact, while having a running 300.

Do not buy the 292cc kit. You must buy the 299cc kit to work. The head gasket will be stamped wrong and can't be used. Also you need to cut 4mm off lower tensioner bolt as it is reported that the casting is cut 3mm shallower in new cylinder and the bolt will be to long. These are Geo's directions.
