Pro-Taper me.....
Well, after my dwoooooshing of a fall in the mud of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I had to replace the stock steel POS bars with something a little more cool. I wanted a wider spread, and less bend, so I decided to go for the pro taper SEs (7/8 diameter, so no fatty on the bike). I got the YZ High models. For the life of me, I cannot figure out the REAL measuring system for the bars. I get the 800mm length, but the hight (and rise?!?) and bend measuring was a mystery to me. Anyway, the verdict is that they are no higher than stock, had less of a bend and are the perfect length. Hindsight, (or next dwoosh), I will get some a little taller.
While I was at it I installed the infamous vortex... nice. I had to bend the acerbis guards a bit straighter to align with the included clamps. Was not about to spring another 40 bucks for a stupid adjustable clamp when a little tweeeeeaking was all that was needed... here are some pics of the bike, including nerdy shots of teh bars... http://picasaweb.google.com/rbarchi/2007KLX250SH go up one level and look at my other pics if you like.... |
Nice pictures mate. You live in a beautiful country. :D
Try a set of these to raise the bars. http://www.1tail.com/cartimages/m/15895.JPG |

I agree. That is why I bought a street legal bike. Most places for dirt only are getting shut down. I can still go to these places.
Will try the risers. Nice. I am going to adjust my triple, since I believe its a bit off too. (other post) |
