Default Plastic polish/wax

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a new KLX250s. Only have 128 miles on it so we’re still in the “Honeymoon Period” Made a nice tail rack, changed the oil once, and so far, I’m mostly keeping it clean. Well a little dust from Forest Service roads but nothing hard core.

Any way this brings me to a question about the plastics. What do you use to polish/wax the plastic? I have tried auto polish (Turtle Wax), Armor All, and Maguire’s “Motorcycle Plastic Cleaner/Polish”. All I have managed to do is make it duller than it was. The dealer used some sort of silicon pray. Just sprayed it on and left it. No rubbing or polishing. Not sure what the product was but I haven’t found anything like that around here. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

When I worked in a bike shop, we used furniture polish. Something else that works quite well is prolong waterless cleaner and shine.

I used to use Pledge on my bikes, now they are almost all dirt bikes and I don't care about appearances as much, just how they function.
A good coating of Pledge on a clean bike and the dust just blows off easier than blowing out a candle.
Always try it on a spot out of sight first, just to make sure it's compatible with the plastic but it should be. I've used it on plastic, fiberglass, and painted gas tanks.

I, sadly, rely on rain and puddles to clean my KLX. After a few getoffs any actual cleaning agent feels a lot like lipstick on a pig.

Eggs-actly..... how does one polish and shine scratches anyway?

I may give her a blast from the lawn hose before I store her for a couple months...maybe....

I'm pretty sure deej will chime in with a 40 page post on how to properly clean the KLX soon......
