Pirelli MT43 thread
So these have been around since 2008 or so... good reviews... Not really a trials tire but more of a dual-sport tire with some trials characteristics built in... Tempted to try one on the rear now... So, I don't deflate my tires when I hit the trails and reinflate when I hit the road. I usually just keep a pressure that works in both conditions - I've done it but it just never seemed like there was the "fun payoff" for taking the the time to do it. But now with the mt43, it looks like the contact patch would change considerably based on the tire pressure and that the fun factor would be there for deflating to trail conditions. Am I hooked on the hype or are these tires really worth a look for dual-sporting? Rim-locks? Pressure(s)? Front tire brand/model?

I'm on my 3rd MT43. Love the tire. I do 50/50 pavement/dirt riding and my dirt riding is fairly agressive in all conditions typical of the Northeast-rocks, mud, gravel, stumps, etc. I don't mess with my pressure and keep the rear around 18 pounds. I average about 2500 miles per tire.

I tried one for a bit. It felt squishy on the pavement. Since my bike will probably see more pavement than dirt, I decided against it. I think I tried about 20 psi.

I'm running the MT43 with tubliss system, traction is great. I have no complaints.
