Hey Dragone#19,

I Hope it is chain lube, I didn't put any on other than what the dealer did, I'm more thinking it is either a manufacturing fault or an assembly issue, the bikes only are a couple days old and only done 44k'ms, about 30miles I think so the seals are all brand new. The other thing I've noticed is if I put it on a stand the oil doesn't leak but if I use the bike stand it drips down obviously because the oil is flowing to the side of the lean. I'm just taking the bash plate off and gonna clean it real good so I can see the oil. Now just gotta find some foot powder!!!

Cheers
Chris.

My guess is the seal was defective from thegit-go or they damaged it during assembly.
and that is quite possible as well.

Hey Guys,

If it is the seal do you know if it is a big job to fix or something that can be done ina couple of hours.

Cheers

If they have the part on hand (one O-ring), the job is less than one hour. It involvesremoving the front srocketandpulling the output shaft sleeve to replace an O-ring that is under that sleeve.

From what you said, I'm assuming the leak is coming from the output shaft. Hopefully that will fix it, because otherwise you're talking about splitting the case and replacing the oil seal.

Thanks Tremor38

I'm feeling a bit better now, I am nearly sure that is where it is coming from. I would hope the dealer has the O-Ring in stock.

Cheers

I dont know how the KLX works but I have replaced a few countershaft seals. No need to remove the shaft, just remove sprocket, pull old seal, put new one on.

Edit: Just looked at the parts diagram, looks no different than what I expected, dont see why the above procedure is not the case.

I think I read somewhere that he has 2 bikes, 1 that is showroom clean & one he rides. Mine is awaiting the skid plate & 13T fromt sproket arrival before it plays in the dirt!
