I wanted the LED lights on whenever the bike is running. If memory serves, I found switched power under the seat (pretty sure). If I was running super-bright ADVMonster type lights, I'd use the switched power and an adjustable dimmer that cuts the brightness on low beam. This bike never gets ridden on the street after dark so blinding traffic isn't an issue here.
