Painting head cover
Guys,
I wanna paint the head cover.
Can I just use Duplicolor or equivalent paint for engines and then a sealant coat? No need to prep it other than cleaning? Any suggestions? Thanks.

make sure to degrease well before you paint.
Yup, they look cool and that's what I wanna do. It will go nice with my all black SF. I also have Zeta engine plugs in red on the way. So, why not?
Thanx for the tip wildcard.

hightemp paints can remain kinda soft until fully cured, easy to scratch or scuff or get dirt imbedded. not sure if the valve cover runs hot enough for a fast cure? maybe consider curing in a oven? or using a different kind of paint. PJ1 used to have color match side case paint, maybe they have a red? some early cr honda had red motors.

So, I am stuck with paint, which is being a b!tch to find, too.
Sometimes I miss how easy it was to get stuff and work done in the US.
Sucks!
If your powercoater is a busy shop, ask them to call you next time they are set up doing red. If your not picky about the shade of red it shouldn't be too long. Got a tank painted that way at a body shop.
