Default Ok I have a question

I am the proud owner of a 2006 klx250,,, and lovin it..
But i have noticed it needs a lil more "poop" to her.
I have been to KLXPlanet, and read about the "Free Mods" and had the question of ... since this is not a "California" model, is rejetting the carb needed?? They say on there, NO.... But i have read on this forum in various places that its a must....
Does anyone have a true answer to this question?

If you can afford it just go with one of the big bore kits, as it is the best power gain.More than pipe, free mods ,carb, header etc....
Big bore plus rejet and open exhaust/air filter is all you need to do (for starters lol).

klx 300 uses different needle than klx250. I recommend a dynojet kit for the klx300, then open up the intake and exhaust. You will be much happier!

Maybe I should re- phrase my question....... Has anyone done the "free mods" that Planet KLX has listed.... to their 2006 KLX250 without needing to re-jet the carb.. and has had no problems doing so.....???

Not free, but the best way to get a kick is to go to a 13 countershaft sprocket. Most bag for the $, this side of a 351.

No, he means use a jet kit for a KLX300, they work great for the 250S.
DynoJet kit 2206. It isnt free but well worth it. And if you open the exhaust and air intake it will need it.

Looks like I am only 3 hours away from you.

Welcome to the forums. Get a full pipe and jet the crap out of it, oh and take off the airbox lid and throw that in a box.
