Default Oil Leak After First Ride - 2006 KLX 250

I just picked up a 2006 Kawasaki KLX 250. I took it out for my first ride on some trails by my house, and it is a ton of fun! When I got back to the garage, I noticed oil leaking. It leaks out from by this rubber grommet on the left hand side of the bike:

Any ideas how to fix this?

I'd wash it down with contact cleaner and then smear some silicone seal around it. Otherwise you're talking taking off the cover, putting in a new gasket and some Kawi-bond (or Yama-bond or Honda-bond, etc) around the rubber grommet to stop the seepage. Personally I'd do the silicone seal and make sure you're not running too much oil, which could cause more crank case pressure, pushing a bit of oil out. If I pulled the cover and did the gasket, etc odds are I'd probably end up with more seepage.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm still looking for a shop manual for this bike and given my limited mechanic skills, your approach might be my plan A.

Are you suggesting using RTV silicone gasket maker on the outside or another kind of silicone product? Also, would you try to pull up the grommet a little to try to work some silicone underneath and then press it back down? Or, just silicone around the grommet as it sits now? If pulling it back a bit would be better, I might ride it for a bit first to warm it up as the grommet is pliable once warm, but not as it sits now when cold.
