Sorry for the basic question but can anyone tell me what the factory part # is for the oil filter on my new 2009 KLX 250S?

Also I have 125 miles on the bike. Should I change the oil or wait until higher miles?

Thoughts on factory oil filter or another brand and part #?

Is ther a good on line source to order from?

When I change the oil are there any other items that I will need besides the filter and oil?

I am new to bikes but have worked on plenty of cars and snowmobiles.

Changes mine to synth' at about 300 km. Oil and filter change at 2000 km from then on. Got the dealer to "throw in" 4 filter when I got the bike new. Factory filter works fine.

The Washer on the sump plug cam be used again, just inspect for damage and relpace if needed. The 'o' ring on the inside of the filter cover can be used again, just inspect for damage and replace if needed. I've not needed to replace either so far.

 

Honda xr filters are the same, i use them
