Obvious Question?
OK forgive me if I should know this, but I don't...........
Why are there so many 2009 KLX250S bikes out there?
I see very few, if any 2010, 2011, 2012 models or earlier years.
I own a 2009 and when doing my searching for a good used KLXS all I seemed to find was 2009 models galore. eBay, Craigslist, etc.
There have even been a few dealers with some new ones still around.
Inquiring minds want to know......

First year of a tweaked design? I understand Mother Kaw made a boatload of 2008 KLR650's...something like 15,000, when they usually made around 5000 per year from 1988-2007. 2009, '10, '11, '12 numbers are more "normal" again.
They must of shipped a boat load of them over here. I've only seen one new 2010 sitting around.

What Borg said. Also the '09 came out summer '08. The new styling seems to have caught peoples attention. The newer ones (in North America) only have different color schemes otherwise identical to the '09s.
Plus all the earlier ones (06-07's) has obviously been sold off and the owners seem pretty happy with them. So you don't see many come up for sale. They make great second bikes or just commuters.
But yes, they basically built the 09's for two years. So there are a ton of them.

That's cheating.
The International Motorcycle show comes here to Minneapolis next weekend.
I'm going for sure......even though it has slimmed down in recent years it's still fun.
Helps me through the winter!
