Newbie question
Hi all,
I'm new to motorcycling and haven't purchased a bike yet. Here's my question - I want a 250cc bike for street-only use. I don't want a cruiser or a sport bike, so I'm down to the KLX250s and the KLX250sf. I prefer the supermoto style, but the 250s will be easier to pick up (used) at a good price. How do the stock knobbies do on the street? What are differences in the two bikes? Is the SF a more comfortable street bike? Thanks in advance. |
Im pretty sure its more confortable! I ride a KLX250 with the Knobbies on the road.. 90% of my riding is on the road..
And the KLX250sf was intended for the street so thats your best bet.. Other differences are: Black Colour Bigger Front Brake Disk Not sure, but maybe different gearing.. Different Supermoto Style Front Fender Thats all I can think of, and imo its got a bigger cool factor too.. |
I put 6600 miles on my knobbies, and 95% of that was street. They are shot! Although they lasted longer than I thought. No fun at all when there is even a little water on the road.

I don't understand why you'd look at a dual sport if you'll be on the street only?
No street bike, no cruiser, but roads only? Get a scooter?! |
The KLX-250s is great on twisty country roads and around city streets! The SF has to be even better. If you'll be riding street only, get the SF or even a Ninja.

psst sportbike a chick magnet!!:)

Pick up a 250 Ninja. The new ones are dirt cheap, and used are even cheaper. They last forever if you take care of it.
