New plug wire on my D-Tracker (KLX250)

Easy, just unscrewed the old one and added the new 8mm one. I shortened the boot that goes over it at the coil end

After I decide whether to use this one or a yellow Accel wire, I'll put a drop of superglue on it at the coil.

I spray the wire with a light mist of clear paint to seal in the color and lettering. -Too heavy on the clear and the paint will crack

Give me a few days to relish the new paint job that was just completed a few days ago?

:)

It looks great - much better than the faded blue D-Tracker plastic that was on it.

For a total of just $50 having a local guy paint the plastic was a huge savings over ordering OE plastic.

Good enough for now

I pick up Kawasaki lettering tomorrow, but have to wait a awhile before applying it

Do you know the specific type of paint he used on your bike?

Richard Avatar 04-18-2013 12:34 PM

I just texted him and he said he used urethane paint and polyglos plastic primer (which may be a local brand)

I originally contacted the painter after I saw a Honda XR with a very nice paint job on it a few weeks ago parked outside a store. I waited 20 minutes for the owner to return so I could ask him who'd done his paint.

He said his paint was something like 2yrs old, and it still looked great-as good as my fresh paint does now. So his guy seemed to be the painter to use

That was very cruel, dan. I've been color blind since birth and have suffered tremendously as a result in my very difficult life experiences. I hope you're proud that you have made fun of a handicapped person. I didn't know that you were so hateful.:(
