Is a KLX300 tank easy swap in?

Edit. Meaning will it fit well. Not worried about the amount of wrench turning but I like to know all the bits I will need before changing. If I change.

 

Google Maier they sell aftermarket klx300 plastic, not cheap like kx plastic, but waaaay cheaper than OEM. I use their tank shrouds, side panels and rear fender.

Please note, the left side panel needs a little bending and heat gun action because the klx300 has no battery...no biggie.

Maninthesea.... the klx300 tank bolted right up on my 06. Had to F with the fuel lines and wire harness a little no biggie.....don't forget you HAVE to use the klx300 petcock with the tank...can't use the one you got. Other than that...easy.

I got my klx300 tank from an advrider member....like $50

 

Damn. Ya I just bought a used 09 klx250s and the previous owner spray painted all of the plastics!!! Looks like **** now that ive taken her offroad n they're all scratched up. Over $500 for replacement OEM (8 pieces) n id really like to not have to keep repainting these. Please tell me someone's found these somewhere else...

 

500$? I just bought a new OEM 20010 front black fender for 60$. My 2009 has been converted to black by swapping with an SF model that wanted to be red. Trouble is that the black SF fender is made for a small front tire and looks lame on the S model.

Black looks nice.

 

$500 will buy a lot of spray paint.
No aftermarket plastics are made, yet. There are not enough of these bikes around to justify the start up costs for the aftermarket Mfgs.
