New KLX250sf here! KLX300 or KLX250sf dynojet question

Heya Guys! Im decided to sign up yesterday. My 09 KLX250sf has about 400 miles on it now but I still havnt changed the oil, I bought a uni filter and plan on changing it this weekend.

Ive already put on a 2 brothers slip on and eventually a powerbomb header but from all the reading on jetting im confused if I should get the 2182 09 KLX250sf jet kit or a KLX300 stage 2 kit. Modding is new to me and after the slip on im already hooked and feel like a kid on christmas!

Ive got alot more to read and do btw, what oil do you guys recommend?

Get the DJ kit for the KLX250sf model. There is less involved for the same results.

Untrue judging by the profile of the needle and the difference in the clip positions.

I was thinking of drilling out the slide hole. But that pic between the two needles is awasome. Shows the KLX300 needle has a more aggresive fuel trim. And the KLX250 needle has a more linear fuel trim.

What gets me confused is why there isnt a spring with the KLX300. Since im looking into a bb351 kit eventually I dont want to regret anything. Btw, why are there more parts in one kit but not the other?

Also can anyone shoot a link on here for a tutorial on installing the 300 or 250sf kit.

Does anyone think the '09 and later kit for the 250S might have to do anything with emissions issues? Not claiming any knowledge about this, but I'd bet a nickel you could drill the slide on an '09 with the stock spring, and it would work just like it does on the 300 kit that many of us use. Just thinking out loud.

The differences in the kits come in the design of the bikes and the style they will be ridden. The 300 is a competition/sport bike and will be used in the pursuit of speed, the motard 250 certainly isn't and the 'softer' needle reflects this.

BTW, anyone with the motard have any issues with the lack of a cush drive rear hub?

Nope. I've never heard any problems (shaft snapping, etc) from d-tracker riders. Then again, we're not exactly dealing with gobs of torque.

Now hold on there just one minute, WOZ! "The 300 is a competition bike used in the pursuit of speed"? Isn't that false advertising?:D
