Default New KLX250S owner

Hi. New to the forum. Picked up a 2007 KLX250S for my wife. Previous owner had hacked off the rear subframe basically from the seat back and replaced the stock fender with more of an offroad fender. I'd like to put a stock fender back on it but I'm guessing I'll have to weld some of the rear section back on. Just wondering if there's anyone else here that has hacked off the rear of their frame and would be willing to sell it to me? Or will I have to fabricate something up? thanks

Hi Pro:
Welcome to the forum.

Good luck withing finding a hacked piece. You may find something. If not, there's a few picks of the rear subframe in my 351 thread (link below) for my '06, which is the same as your '07. I did away with the far back black fender but didn't do any frame cutting.

Thanks for the reply. Everything works fine the way it is just I'm afraid it's not sturdy enough. Basically there's no support between the two rear bars. And I'd like to put a bag or something on the back to carry a few things. Nothing major just a fender bag of some sort.

If I had another bike side by side with mine it would be pretty alot easier to fabricate the rear frame. I'd love to be able to get it back near stock with a rear rack on it too.

did you try calling around the recyclers and junkyards to see if they have a totaled klx250 laying around?...i'm sure you can just take a hacksaw with a new blade and go and cut what you need....

Thanks for all the replies. I'm awaiting to hear back from scrapyards. I'll take a picture of the rear end tomorrow and show you what's missing.

lol well when I tell my wife I'm buying a bike for her it just means I can have more bikes lol. I really like the KLX and I think I'll be riding it way more than she will. It's more offroad than my KLR and it's so light and easy to handle.
