Hi everyone, I just received my Cheng Shin C858's. My first toughts on them are that they seem to have about the same compound as the stock D603. The rear tire is the exact same size as the stock one (width, height...) and the front tire is at least 1/2 inch narrower. I like the thread of the rear tire, looks quite agressive for a 50/50 tire. I'm afraid of the front since it is quite narrow. If i'm right, a narrow tire in front may give me some trouble in soft stuff??? Here are some pics to compare with the stockers...

Looks more like a 70/30 tire to me. My Kenda is a 50/50 and its got way more *****. Hmmm I guess companies can call them what they want, but I think that tire is going to be great all around.

 

It may not be much narrower if at all by the time you put the new front tire on and shove some air into it.

I'm always amazed at how skinny the tires look - then you put them on and fill em and they look good.

 

That's what I think to. Don't know about the wear but I will post on it as soon as I have rode them for a while. For now there is still 6 feet of snow here so far away from using the bike...
I will post a full report on them once I try them in different conditions...in maybe one month... seems so far to me.
