I also love my Shorai, turns over the motor very fast and of course is very light. And cold does not hurt it.

I've got some cool prints to build a battery desulfator, I just need to get the free time, and ambition to order the electronics...

i might have to try that shorai, also want to relocate the battery more towards the middle/lower in the bike.

There are other lithium iron batteries out there as well. You have to be a bit careful with the terminals on the shorai but it works well

Wow $110.00 for a Shorai?

You guys serious? That's over 3x OEM price and over 2x other AGM batteries.
To rich for my blood, just for a battery.

Skip a meal and you can save the few pounds of weight savings. :p

It sure is more $$$ I paid 94.95, normally 104.95 and they had some 'special' that took 10 bucks off (atbatt), but still was a lot more. I got one after my original battery was having trouble when the weather turned colder, the charger said it was still 'strong' but the battery would only be good for 2 or 3 cranks than zip. The Shorai is brand new (couple months) so after a couple years I'll see.....

some of their prop:

• Up to 80% lighter than conventional lead-acid starting battery
• Up to 2000 cycles - up to 8 times longer cycle life
• No maintenance - store up to 1 year without recharge
• Environmentally safe - no harmful gas or acid leaks and spills
• Typical design life of 5 years

My $40 Li battery is still going strong.

I don't trust lithium, I've been reading into batteries immensely lately... due to both curiousity brought on by multiple people debating AGM vs SLA on this forum, and simple needs for smart battery replacement for projects. I'm not saying its bad... I just don't see it benifitting the motorcycle communitty a whole lot... its life cycles aren't amazing enough to me to justify 3x price increase.

I do however see a noticible gain in the use of AGM...

Here is a link to a extensive website with good info on almost any battery derivative you could ever ponder.

I think the best deal listed here is posted by "KE100".........the MotoBatt MBTX7U Sealed AGM Battery.
Great specs and great price for an AGM battery.

I might just purchase one of these puppies.
