Lightbulb New 351 owner - baseline jetting recs for ~1000ft above sea level?

Hi all,

Just picked up a 2006 KLX 250 with a 351 BB big bore kit. I'm not sure how it's currently jetted (previous owner didn't know either), but there are a few things I'd like to tune out.

1) When rolling off the throttle, there is a slight surge just before it returns to idle
2) There is decel popping when rolling off the throttle
3) Rolling on throttle from idle, it sounds "throaty"

I do plan to pick up this kit Dynojet Research Jet Kit - Stage 2 2206, so I should be able to adjust as needed. I'm at ~850ft above sea level.

Thank you

Adjusted the fuel mixture screw at bottom of carb along with the idle adjustment and it's much better now. Ended up at about 2.75 turns out on the fuel screw and knocked the idle down from 1,800 - 1,900 RPMs to 1,300 RPMs.

From what the previous owner shared and what I can see, here's the mods:
- 351 big bore kit from blue
- Airbox lid removed
- Jetted with pilot and main
- New throttle needle (dynojet)
- Kouba t-handle fuel mixture screw
- HMF exhaust with stock header pipe
