My New Skidplate

I made this thing with 1/4" think food grade plastic (the type that some cutting boards are made of). Little heat here, a little drilling there and done. The only thing left is to enlarge the hole for the oil drain plug.

That's really cool. That stuff it almost indestructible. ;)

That looks pretty good, but I would look into some different mounting hardware. Those bolt heads are just looking to get hung up on trail junk.

I wanted to use 6mm button head Allen bolts, but I cannot find any. Do you guys have any other ideas???

I would like to see countersunk flatheads in there. Anything that will help hold you up while trying to skim over a log can't be good.

take a look on line, garner westcott makes fasterer kits and sells seperate fancy bolts, if there's a harley dealer near you may what you need there. they keep bolt kits with nice button heads for the blingy harley boys, in the store

Looks good, should slide over logs well.
+1 on the countersunk screws. Do you have a Fastenal around you? M6 stainless flat head

Our local ace hardware carries a good selection of metric and speciality screws. I have also found that Lowes also has a good selection(way better than HomeDepot).

Try Mcmaster Car too.

I think you had the right idea with hex socket button heads. Plus I'd put some USS washers in there too. You could look in your local yellow pages for fasteners. Try to find a good local shop, or you could try Fastenal, Grainger, or McMaster-Carr.
