My bike on Craigslist is getting responses -need feedback

I put it up again for $4400 including mods. Add $800 for the SM wheelset.

Here is the ad. It's a little different than last time. http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/1171764013.html

If someone asks how much for it completely stock, how low should I go? How much is a used dynojet, muzzy, slightly used motopro springs (just put them in a week or two ago) etc.? Figure 800 for the wheels...what would you guys pay for the Muzzy, $400?

My ultimate goal is to get enough cash to buy a used bike plus a used bike for my girl (Virago, Rebel, etc.) I am hoping the wheelset and Muzzy will contribute to this.

I've never sold a bike online before so any constructive criticism is welcome. I already put the ad up a month or two ago for $4800 and I didn't get a single response. I dropped it to $4400 and I've gotten 2 in the 1st 24 hours....I would just LOVE to ride up on a new bike on my girls birthday and say "This is for you!"

I've bought and sold lots of dirt bikes and I've always had the best luck by bringing the bike mostly back to stock and selling the other high dollar items separatly. If you try and sell them with the bike, you'll almost be giving them away free. You would not want to remove things like jetting, susp springs, or anything else that would be difficult to remove. Most people do not want to pay close to an amount that they could buy a new bike for w/ a waranty. I'm not saying it always makes sense, but that's just the way most people are, including myself...
Good Luck

So what's a stock 09 with close to 7k miles worth? It's not in perfect cosmetic shape.

$3100-$3200 will catch someone's eye. Feel lucky if you get $3000.

This is what I thought. Add in my upgrades and it comes to around what I listed it for.

We shall see. I just put my rifle up online for sale so hopefully that'll go too. Can't bear to part with my handgun though.

UGH that disgusts me... a bike that goes for ~4500 before TTL a year ago only getting 3K... I'm in some money problems myself but selling the bike just isn't an option because it wouldnt' pay for the damn loan that got the bike for me in the first place. I need a government bailout. Help me, Brobama!

Obongo gives me an extra $25 per unemployment check. What a nice guy!

Depreciation sucks, unles you are on the other end of it. I found my 07 with 384 miles on it last year for $3700, the difference between it and a new bike are covering all my mods.

Nada shows between $3310 - $4140. KBB shows between $2855 - $4390. If it's in real nice shape, you should be able to get close to $4,000, but it may take a little while. I would definitely sell the wheel set separatly. I was actually looking for a clean 09 not to long ago and I was willing to pay $4k, but nothing more. If it were me, I'd advertise for something like $4250/obo and let them talk you down to $4000, maybe $3900. Then sell the wheels on ebay/craiglist/etc and get an additional $600 from them. That would give you a good solid $4500 to play with. Yeah, choosing the wrong bike and then tricking it out is always bad for the wallet.
