MPG on your machine?

Hello fellas! I was just wondering what average MPG you guys get on your KLX's or how many miles you get before switching to reserve. Before buying mine i found an online article saying something about 60 MPG. My KLX is from 2007 and has about 10k miles on it at the moment. The tank size is supposedly 1.9x Gallons right? but i only get about 65-70 miles before having to switch to the reserve. is this normal? any idea how much does the reserve keep?

~Thank you, Virus

Not sure how the 07 speedos are but I know the 09-15 models, like mine, are inaccurate by 9-10%. Keep that in mind when comparing or asking...not sure if your model is accurate so maybe someone can chime in. Non the less...my 2012, 3 gallon tank, all things considered and corrected for, gets me about 50-55 mpg.

I get about 50mpg too. About 75 miles to reserve, then another 25 to empty.

Mpg

I have done some mods, getting 56-61 depending on what I doing with it, town or highway. 80-85 before reserve.

Pilot is rich, I can drive away immediately, fuel screw a little rich, needle (KLX300) a little lean. Main right on.

Yes the speedometer is usually off by 10% but oddly the odometer is fairly accurate.

07 is the same about 10 mph fast I'm lucky to get 70 in the city and about 40 in the dez. I re calibrated my speedo to read spot on using Here maps GPS. Very accurate speed readings with this app.

I run the 12 O'clock Labs speedoDRD and my speedo is accurate, dead on. GPS and phone GPS verified...now the odometer...not so much...its very annoying to be honest but I'd rather have a proper speedo then odo so I'll live with it. Makes keeping track of my miles and check points really annoying when exploring. I use to get a corrected/realistic 65ish mpg when my bike was bone stock, now its set up per my signature and went down to the 50's. Admittedly I ride the bike hard and rev the snot out of it on the highway so I can't complain.

My rides with a garmin edge 500 show my odo to be spot on but the speedo is off around +5% and my fuel econ is between 66 and 71 mpg. I dont stretch my throttle cables too much but like occasional wheelies. 90+ miles before I switch to reserve commuting. Mileage drops alot if I am screwing around on trails.
Edit: just hit 100 miles today as I switched to reserve. Best tank yet.

My old klx351 with tm36-68 carb and a 15 tooth front netted 65 mpg city, consistently. Shifting at 4.5k consistently. I would fall asleep while riding. Consistently :p

I gotta ask...was that mileage corrected or at least verified with a GPS or something? I don't doubt it, I'm just curious. I'm sure shifting at 4.5 helps a lot.
