More engine braking with 351?

Since putting in my BB 351 kit I have noticed (as well as a buddy with a stock KLX) that when riding the bike in slower technical terrain the on/off throttle response is more abrupt. Fine when under power but as soon as the throttle is closed there seems to be more engine braking making for a jerkier ride. Kind of like some fuel injected bikes it's either on or off.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Other than this one observation the 351 is fantastic!

Bigger piston, more engine braking, what would you expect?
My 650 single will slide the rear tire in 2nd on pavement trying to bump start (with a big bum drop), HELLO!

Welcome to the world of riding big bore singles.. My Husaberg 650 will throw me over the handlebars if I stall it..

bigger piston = more compression = more abrupt engine braking, right!?

Besides more power the engine braking is the next feature I like with the 351. I use stock gears and I run in 2nd or 3rd gear on tight trails and use the engine braking for most of my slowing around turns. Even on the road I like the engine braking to help get me stopped.

i see it as a feature as well

Yes, I expected there to be more engine braking, just wondering if others that have the BB had the same experience.
The huge increase in fun factor is so worth it!

I will be able to tell in a week or so once I get mine installed. Since a bigger slug should draw more air at idle throttle opening, and the BB351 is reported as having a higher compression ratio doing more work compressing the idle speed air charge per revolution, relative to the stock engine, it follows that greater negative acceleration would result.
