Mirrors on the KLX
 

Well i've got my 2013 KLX250s, and I hate this mirrors. With a passion. They look like lady bug eyes, I can't stand them.

So, I know these laws are different everywhere, but if anybody is from Canada / Ontario, do you guys know the mirror laws? I know it's illegal to have no mirrors, obviously, but is there a minimum mirror size?

I found some mirrors just at Canadian Tire, those mini round mirrors you usually glue on your truck mirrors to see your trailer. They are about 2 inches in diameter, if I were to stick those on, you would I would get bothered?

Just wondering, I can't really find any 'mirror laws' so I'm asking you gusy!

I have these mirrors..

They sorta work, IMO nothin is better than a good shoulder check.
Ended up taking them off after installing the renthals.

I'm Not sure on legality issues in your country

Those look pretty good, mine are about the same just much smaller and mounted where the original mirrors were, i'd love to take a picture but my bike is in pieces in the garage.. Thanks for the reply though

google? :p Motorcycle safety standards for Ontario, CDN Highway Traffic Act - R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 611 i don't see any size restrictions...just on number of mirrors, must not move around in the wind and can't be broken or fogged up

(9) The motorcycle shall be fitted with the number of mirrors prescribed and,

(a) each mirror shall be securely mounted and maintain a set adjustment; and

(b) no mirror shall be cracked, broken or have any significant reduction in reflecting surface owing to deterioration of the silvering.

I bought ahnh666's mirrors a couple months ago and love them. They offer better visibility then the round ones. But they do weight a lot more, so if weight is a concern they may not be the best choice for you.

I picked up a pair like this: Dual Sport Enduro Fold Down Motorcycle Dirtbike Mirror 10mm Right Left Screw IN | eBay
I wasn't really going for smaller, I just liked the folding - in a tight trail, you can fold them in out of the way, or if you fall down or hit something, they just fold out of the way instead of breaking. IIRC the mirror is slightly smaller than stock - I like a mirror that's big enough to give me a good picture of what's behind, that combined with shoulder checks keeps you safe and out of the grill of a cager.

just a warning...when you change mirrors to a different position like under handlebar or bar end (i tried both), just go slow and safe for a bit until you get use to them...it takes time....first time i installed the small under handlebar mirrors i was :eek: ...after few hundred miles of riding street/freeway, i'm really comfortable checking my rear and back/side using them....:D

The issue you will find as i did is a lot of aftermarket mirrors pivot SUCKS and moves too easily just with a little bump. I am thinking about putting my stock ones back on just because of this and i dont want to experiment buying several mirrors just to get good ones.
