Marcelino Camshaft Mod with 351 kit.

I'm doing the mod right now with the 351 kit, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Have you figured out the jetting/oil leak issues you were having?

That's currently a work in progress. I was missing one of the O-rings on one of the valve cover bolts so I had to use a make shift one. I think the oil was coming out of there.

I finished everything up! Bike runs great, oil leak gone. Just a couple problems, there is some pretty bad decel popping and the bike is a little muddy pulling through gears 3-5. Low end torque is out of this world. 1/8 throttle and my bike is straight up in the air. I have a 13t sprocket so I'm sure that helps :). Any ideas why it's a little muddy mid range? Or how to get rid of the decel popping?

On decel popping, did you get the BB block off plate all sealed up, or is there a possibility of other exhaust leaks? Maybe plug the pipe and listen for them.

Don't know what to tell you about mid range. I'd look to jetting, but you've done so much at once it's hard to tell where to look. One mod at a time...

try playing with the air pilot screw a bit.

Are you still with the DJ needle clipped in the 4th position down from the top? If so, you may be rich in the middle. Most that I see clip it in the 3rd position.

Midrange : lift your needle 1 position and retry .
One should really begin tuning the carb fromm the top down : main jet/ full throtle ; needle / 30 -> 70 % throtle ; pilot / up to 30 % ; and then idle .

So...adjust the fuel/air screw a little bit.

And bump the shim on the throttle screw up one notch. Bike idles really strong now. I would be careful with letting it sit too long cause the fan kicked on a few times. You can feel the heat coming from the header pipe.

No it's in the third position with the 128 main jet. I might need to try the second position down?
