Default Making room for handguards..

Okay, I just picked up some Powermadd handguards and can't find where to make room for the mounts. What have you guys done to get aftermarket handguards to fit? I'm using Renthal Ricky Carmichael signature bars if that matters.

For me all I had to do was cut the nipples off the controls. It appears the original bars had a small hole that aligned the controls onto a specific point on the bar. I use MSR handgaurds.

I don't have stock bars anymore, but I do know the "nipple" you are referring about.

I meant to ask how you guys situated your controls to get the mounts to fit in. Any pics?

Dunno what's up with your handguards, mine went into the ends of the bars and mounted onto the handlebars, didn't have to move any controls. Here is a picture of the left side.

Okay, the levers use the same bolt as the handguards, is it the same for aftermarket ones? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

I've cut an aluminium piece, drilled 3 holes, and bent it a little so I can bolt it to the top tripple clamp (with the 2 top bolts that hold the fork). I'm not sure that is clear, I can try to get a picture if you want.

I just found that picture:

I've done mine with the 3 holes aligned so it's not as wide as pictured.

Default handguards

Hey no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid questions are the ones that are not asked, know that from teaching apprentices who didn't ask and ended up destroying stuff. Not familiar with Powermadd guards, but like Maverickaus said most of the guards mount into the end of the bars and have a bracket that goes on the bars. I have Acerbis guards and they were a bit of a bugger fitting the brackets to the stock bars but that was the bars fault not the guards, when I got my new bars they fitted no problem at all. Only reason I moved any controls was for personal preference.
