Mailbox test

This is what my friend and I use to "dyno". It started back when we were in high school when we first started driving. Here's how it goes.

Take a right out of my road with whatever vehicle ur testing, and go balls to the wall to the first mailbox. Look at the speedometer as u pass the mailbox. We did this with our stock trucks/cars. When we added something like headers,a new intake manifold, etc, we would run it again and see how much faster wewere goingwhen we got tothe mailbox. Easy and cheap way to see if your getting any extra "power".

Anyways, hadn't done the test in a while, so when i got my KLX back in may, I decided to run it stock to the mailbox. 60 mph. After the 13t cs, uni,kdx snorkel and rejet, I was up to 64 mph, and after the two bros slip on (with p4 tip), which I just tested the other day, i am up to 67mph. That's just the cheap way I test my things to try and justify the money I put into them! Just another way to prove that the mods definatley help.

Lol, i'll try that before I actual mod my bike. I'll find a reference point on flat ground and just go WFO on the throttle and see where i'm at when I hit said reference point, then do it again after I mod her up :)

yea i have done that before.... but never used mail boxes... its usually like a fire hydrant, which are approximately 1000' apart, or telephone poles.

I know the KLX would have a pretty low trap speed but I wonder what times it would run in the standing 8th and quarter miles?
