Took an old bicycle brake cable, and some ferrules from the hardware store, and voila!!, home made brake snake. Pretty easy to do. They should keep weeds, and sticks from getting in-between the levers and the engine, but more importantly they shold keep the levers from bending too far away from the bike, and breaking, in the event of a crash.

Had to give the shifter lever cabler more play as that lever has a longer throw.

I get a lot of grass and sticks stuck between the levers at this time of the year.

Yeah, there you go WestOz. A picture is worth a thousand words. I think Neil's mis-hap got me thinking about doing the brake snake. Wedge I know what you mean, I want to do the carb breather mod, but just can't seem to get around to it.

Installed some homemade safety wires today. I copied the original brake snake design with a shifter cable from my mountain bike.
